OPM OPS is a real time optical link quality monitoring system combining the optical power monitoring sub-system and the OTDR monitoring sub-system. The system gives pre-warnings on changes to optical link quality and provides instant alarms to failures of optical links and fault positioning. The system is supplemented with an electronic file management of optical fiber resources. Through online monitoring of the optical power of optical links by TC OPT-8/16 and testing results are used to activate the controls in optical switch which then connects the OTDR to test the faulty optical links. Various levels of monitoring systems can be integrated to a central network management system through remote log-in. This system combines with such technologies as digital e-maps of fiber optic resources and GPS, can thus provides quick fault isolation and fault positioning. The system also features the benefits of compact, low cost, high operating stability, flexibility in capacity expansion, ease of operation and maintenance
