Warranty and RMA Policies
Purposes:
The policy sets forth the basic warranty and Dead-on-Arrivals
Replacement (DoARs) guidelines for products purchased
from TECHPAC.
Commencement of Warranty
All warranties begin as of the date of shipment from
TECHPAC. Please refer to your purchase agreement for
specific terms of your warranty. Warranties are granted
to the original buyer ("customer") of the
products only and are non-transferrable.
Warranty Period
The Warranty Period for TECHPAC products is 390 days
(13 months) from date of shipment from TECHPAC.
In-Warranty Services
Fail Units: Repairable. TECHPAC provides repair of
these units free of charge. However, if a product
is return for repair and no defect is found, a USD50
testing fee is imposed on the returned product. The
product is then shipped back to the customer.
Fail Units: Non-Repairable. These products are replaced
to the customer from Refurbished Stock at no charge
to the customer unless they are deemed to have environmental
damage or damaged because of customer abuse. The non-repairable
product is then scrapped. Environmentally damaged
and customer abuse units are retuned to the customer
for disposal.
Dead-on-Arrivals Replacement (DoARs). If a TECHPAC
product fails due to a defect covered by the warranty
within 45 days after factory shipment, TECHPAC will,
upon valid Customer request, exchange the unit for
a new one of comparable shippable revision. To request
this DoAR, the customer must contact TECHPAC Technical
Support before the unit is removed from service and
must work with the TECHPAC technicians as necessary
in verifying the failure. Products with defects found
after 45 days form factory shipment will be treated
as normal RMAs.
The warranty for the replacement or repaired product
will be the balance of the warranty remaining on the
original product or 90 days, whichever is later.
Out-of-Warranty Support
Fail Units: Repairable. TECHPAC provides repair of
these units at a nominal fee.
Fail Units: Non-Repairable. The customer is contacted
and the unit is returned to the customer non-repaired.
A flat fee of USD50 is imposed for testing, handling
and shipping.
Return Materials Procedure
1. Request Return Material Authorization number (RMA)
by contacting the TECHPAC
Technical Assistance Centre
(TAC).
2. Provide total quantity of each model to be returned.
3. Return equipment, packed for shipping, to TECHPAC
with RMA number showing clearly
on the outer shipping
label.
4. Provide return shipping address, a list of items
returned by model number and serial
number, and RMA
number on a sheet.
5. Ship the equipment to:
